Chapter 1

1:1The book of the generation of Jesus Christos the son of David, the son of Abraham.
1:2Abraham begat Isaac. And Isaac begat Jacob. And Jacob begat Judas and his brethren.
1:3And Judas begat Perez, and Zara of Tamar. And Perez begat Esrom. And Esrom begat Aram.
1:4And Aram begat Amminadab. And Amminadab begat Nahshon. And Nahshon begat Salmon.
1:5And Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab. And Boaz begat Obed of Ruth. And Obed begat Jesse.
1:6And Jesse begat David the King. And David the King begat Solomon of her that [was] the wife of Uriah.
1:7And Solomon begat Rehoboam. And Rehoboam begat Abijah. And Abijah begat Asa.
1:8And Asa begat Jehoshaphat. And Jehoshaphat begat Joram. And Joram begat Uzziah.
1:9And Hezekiah begat Jotham. And Jotham begat Ahaz. And Ahaz begat Hezekiah.
1:10And Hezekiah begat Manasseh. And Manasseh begat Amon. And Amon begat Josiah.
1:11And Josiah begat Jakim. And Jakim begat Jeconiah and his brethren about the time they [were] carried away to Babylon.
1:12And after they [were] carried away into Babylon, Jeconiah begat Shealtiel. And Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel.
1:13And Zerubbabel begat Abiud. And Abiud begat Eliakim. And Eliakim begat Azor.
1:14And Azor begat Zadok. And Zadok begat Achim. And Achim begat Eliud.
1:15And Eliud begat Eleazar. And Eleazar begat Matthan. And Matthan begat Jacob.
1:16And Jacob begat Joseph you husband of Mary, of whom [was] born Jesus, that [is] called Christos.
1:17So all the generations from Abraham to David, [are] fourteen generations. And from David until they [were] carried away into Babylon, fourteen generations:and after they [were] carried away into Babylon until Christos, fourteen generations.
1:18Now the birth of Jesus Christos was thus, When as his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the holy Ghost.
1:19Then Joseph her husband being a just man,and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
1:20But while he thought these things, behold, the Angel of the Kyrios appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, the son of David, fear not to take Mary your wife:for that which is conceived in her, is of the holy Ghost.
1:21And she shall bring forth a son,and you shall call his name JESUS:for he shall save his people from their sins.
1:22And all this [was] done that it might [be] fulfilled, which [is] spoken of the Kyrios by the Prophet, saying,
1:23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son,and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is by interpretation, Theos with us.
1:24Then Joseph, [being] raised from sleep, did as the Angel of the Kyrios had enjoined him,and took his wife.
1:25But he knew her not, til she had brought forth her first born son,and he called his name JESUS.

Chapter 2

2:1When Jesus then [was] born at Bethlehem in Judea, in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came Men from the East to Jerusalem,
2:2Saying, Where is that King of the Jews that is born? For we have seen his star in the East, and are come to worship him.
2:3When King Herod heard this, he [was] troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
2:4And gathering together all the chief Priests and Scribes of the people, he asked of them, where Christos should [be] born.
2:5And they said to him, At Bethlehem in Judea:for so it [is] written by the Prophet,
2:6And you Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not the lest among the Princes of Judah:For out of you shall come the governor that shall feed that my people Israel.
2:7Then Herod privily called the Men,and diligently inquired of them the time of the star that appeared,
2:8And sent them to Bethlehem, saying, Go,and search diligently for the babe:and when you have found him, bring me word again, that I may come also, and worship him.
2:9So when they had heard the King, they departed:and lo, the star which they had seen in the East, went before them, till it came and stood over the place where the babe was.
2:10And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with an exceeding great joy,
2:11And went into the house, and found the babe with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him,and opened their treasures, and presented to him gifts, even gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
2:12And after they [were] warned of God in a dream, that they should not go again to Herod, they returned into their country another way.
2:13After their departure, behold, the Angel of the Kyrios appears to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the babe and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be there til I bring the word:for Herod will seek the babe, to destroy him.
2:14So he arose and took the babe and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt,
2:15And was there to the death of Herod, that that might be fulfilled, which is spoken of the Kyrios by the Prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
2:16Then Herod, seeing that he [was] mocked of the Men, [was] exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the male children that [were] in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two year old and under, according to the time which he had diligently searched out of the Men.
2:17Then [was] that fulfilled which [is] spoken by the Prophet Jeremiah, saying,
2:18In Ramah was a voice heard, mourning, and weeping, and great howling:Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they were not.
2:19And when Herod [was] dead, behold, an Angel of the Kyrios appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
2:20Saying, Arise, and take the babe and his mother, and go into the land of Israel:for they [are] dead which sought the babes life.
2:21Then he arose up and took the babe and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
2:22But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judea in stead of his father Herod, he [was] afraid to go there:yet after he [was] warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee,
2:23And went and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might [be] fulfilled which [was] spoken by the Prophets, which [was],That he should [be] called a Nazarite.

Chapter 3

3:1And in those days, John the Baptist came and preached in the wilderness of Judea,
3:2And said, Repent:for the kingdom of heaven [is] at hand.
3:3For this is he of whom it is spoken by the Prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of the Kyrios:make his paths straight.
3:4And this John had his garment of camels hear, and a girdle of a skin about his loins:his meat was also locusts and wild honey.
3:5Then went out to him Jerusalem and all Judea, and all the region round about Jordan.
3:6And they [were] baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
3:7Now when he saw many of the Pharisees, and of the Sadducees come to his baptism, he said to them, O generations of vipers, who has forewarned you to flee from the anger to come?
3:8Bring forth therefore fruit worthy amendment of life.
3:9And think not to say with yourselves, We have Abraham to our father:for I say to you, that Theos [is] able even of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
3:10And now also [is] the axe put to the root of the trees:therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit, [is] hewn down, and cast into the fire.
3:11In deed I baptize you with water to amendment of life, but he that comes after me, is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:he will baptize you with the holy Ghost, and with fire.
3:12Which has his fan in his hand, and will make clean his floor, and gather his wheat into his garner, but will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
3:13Then came Jesus from Galilee to Jordan to John, to [be] baptized of him.
3:14But John earnestly put him back, saying, I have need to [be] baptized of you,and come you to me?
3:15Then Jesus answering, said to him, Let be now:for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. So he suffered him.
3:16And Jesus when he [was] baptized, came straight out of the water. And lo, the heaves [were] opened to him,and John saw the Spirit of Theos descending like a dove, and lighting upon him.
3:17And lo, a voice came from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Chapter 4

4:1Then [was] Jesus led aside of the Spirit into the wilderness, to [be] tempted of the devil.
4:2And when he had fasted forty days, and forty nights, he [was] afterward hungry.
4:3Then came to him the tempter, and said, If you be the Son of Theos, command that these stones be made bread.
4:4But he answering said, It [is] written, Man shall not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Theos.
4:5Then the devil took him up into the holy City, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple,
4:6And said to him, If you be the Son of Theos, cast yourself down:for it is written, that he will give his Angels charge over you,and with their hands they shall lift you up,lest at any time you should dash your foot against a stone.
4:7Jesus said to him, It [is] written again, You shall not tempt the Kyrios your Theos.
4:8Again the devil took him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them,
4:9And said to him, All these will I give you, if you will fall down, and worship me.
4:10Then said Jesus to him, Avoid Satan:for it [is] written, You shall worship the Kyrios your Theos, and him only shall you serve.
4:11Then the devil left him:and behold, the Angels came, and ministered to him.
4:12And when Jesus had heard that John [was] committed to prison, he returned into Galilee.
4:13And leaving Nazareth, went and dwelt in Capernaum, which [is] near the sea in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali,
4:14That it might [be] fulfilled which [was] spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, saying,
4:15The land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:
4:16The people which sat in darkness, saw great light:and to them which sat in the region, and shadow of death, light [is] risen up.
4:17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Amend your lives:for the kingdom of heaven [is] at hand.
4:18And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon, which was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishers.)
4:19And he said to them, Follow me,and I will make you fishers of men.
4:20And they straightway leaving the nets, followed him.
4:21And when he [was] gone forth from there, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them.
4:22And they without tarying, leaving the ship, and their father, followed him.
4:23So Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their Synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
4:24And his fame spread abroad through all Syria:and they brought to him all sick people, that [were] taken with diverse diseases and torments, and them that [were] possessed with devils, and those which [were] lunatic, and those that had the palsy:and he healed them.
4:25And there followed him great multitudes out of Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and from beyond Jordan.

Chapter 5

5:1And when he saw the multitude, he went up into a mountain:and when he [was] set, his disciples came to him.
5:2And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
5:3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:4Blessed [are] they that mourn:for they shall [be] comforted.
5:5Blessed [are] the meek:for they shall inherit the earth.
5:6Blessed [are] they which hunger and thirst for righteousness:for they shall [be] filled.
5:7Blessed [are] the merciful:for they shall obtain mercy.
5:8Blessed [are] the pure in heart:for they shall see Theos.
5:9Blessed [are] the peace makers:for they shall [be] called the children of Theos.
5:10Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousness sake:for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11Blessed shall you be when men revile you,and persecute you,and say all manner of evil against you for my sake, falsely.
5:12Rejoice and [be] glad, for great [is] your reward in heaven:for so persecuted they the Prophets which [were] before you.
5:13You are the salt of the earth:but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out,and to be trodden under foot of men.
5:14You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill, cannot be hid.
5:15Neither do men light a and,and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it gives light to all that [are] in the house.
5:16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which [is] in heaven.
5:17Think not that I [am] come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets. I [am] not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.
5:18For truly I say to you, Till heaven, and earth perish, one the or one title of the Law shall not scape, till all things [be] fulfilled.
5:19Whoever therefore shall break one of these lest commandments, and teach men so, he shall [be] called the lest in the kingdom of heaven:but whoever shall observe and teach them, the same shall [be] called great in the kingdom of heaven.
5:20For I say to you, except your righteousness exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
5:21You have heard that it was said to them of the old time, You shall not kill:for whoever kills shall be culpable of judgment.
5:22But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother unadvisedly, shall be culpable of judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be worthy to be punished by the Council. And whoever shall say, Fool, shall be worthy to be punished with hell fire.
5:23If then you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you,
5:24Leave there your offering before the altar, and go your way:first [be] reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
5:25Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the Judge, and the Judge deliver you to the sergeant, and you be cast into prison.
5:26Verily I say to you, you shall not come out from there, till you have paid the utmost farthing.
5:27You have heard that it [was] said to them of old time, You shall not commit adultery.
5:28But I say to you, that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
5:29Wherefore if your right eye cause you to offend, pluck it out,and cast it from you:for better it [is] for you, that one of your members perish, than that your whole body should [be] cast into hell.
5:30Also if your right hand make you to offend, cut it off,and cast it from you:for better it [is] for you that one of your members perish, than that your whole body should [be] cast into hell.
5:31It has [been] said also, Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorcement.
5:32But I say to you, whoever shall put away his wife (except it [be] for fornication) causes her to commit adultery:and whoever shall marry her that [is] divorced, commits adultery.
5:33Again, you have heard that it [was] said to them of old time, You shall not forswear yourself, but shall perform your oaths to the Kyrios.
5:34But I say to you, Swear not at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of Theos:
5:35Nor yet by the earth:for it is his footstool:neither by Jerusalem:for it is the city of the great King.
5:36Neither shall you swear by your head, because you can not make one hear white or black.
5:37But let your communication be Yes, yes:No, no. For whatever is more than these, comes of evil.
5:38You have heard that it has [been] said, An eye for an eye,and a tooth for a tooth.
5:39But I say to you, Resist not evil:but whoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
5:40And if any man will sue you at the law,and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.
5:41And whoever will compel you to go a mile, go with him twain.
5:42Give to him that asks, and from him that would borrow of you, turn not away.
5:43You have heard that it has bin said, You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.
5:44But I say to you, Love your enemies:bless them that curse you:do good to them that hate you,and pray for them which hurt you,and persecute you,
5:45That you may [be] the children of your father that [is] in heaven:for he makes his sun to arise on the evil, and the good, and sends rain on the just, and unjust.
5:46For if you love them, which love you, what reward shall you have? Do not the Publicans even the same?
5:47And if you [be] friendly to your brethren only, what singular thing do you? Do not even the Publicans likewise?
5:48You shall therefore be perfect, as your Father which is in heaven, is perfect.

Chapter 6

6:1Take heed that you give not your alms before men, to [be] seen of them, or else you shall have no reward of your Father which [is] in heave.
6:2Therefore when you give your alms, you shall not make a trumpet to [be] blown before you, as the hypocrites do in the Synagogues and in the streets, to [be] praised of men. Verily I say to you, they have their reward.
6:3But when you do your alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does,
6:4That your alms may be in secret, and your Father that sees in secret, he will reward you openly.
6:5And when you pray, be not as the hypocrites:for they love to stand, and pray in the Synagogues, and in the corners of the streets, because they would be seen of men. Verily I say to you, they have their reward.
6:6But when you pray, enter into your chamber and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which [is] in secret, and your Father which sees in secret, shall reward you openly.
6:7Also when you pray, use no vain repetitions as the Heathen:for they think to [be] heard for their much babbling.
6:8[Be] you not like them therefore:for your Father knows whereof you have need, before you ask of him.
6:9After this manner therefore pray you, Our father which [are] in heaven, hallowed [be] your name.
6:10Your Kingdom come. Your will [be] done even in earth, as it [is] in heaven.
6:11Give us this day our daily bread.
6:12And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
6:13And lead us not into tentation, but deliver us from evil:for your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
6:14For if you do forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
6:15But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, no more will your father forgive you your trespasses.
6:16Moreover, when you fast, look not sour as the hypocrites:for they disfigure their faces, that they might seem to men to fast. Verily I say to you, that they have their reward.
6:17But when you fastest, anoint your head, and wash your face,
6:18That you seem not to men to fast, but to your Father which [is] in secret:and your Father which sees in secret, will reward you openly.
6:19Lay not up treasures for yourselves upon the earth, where the moth and canker corrupt, and where thieves digge through and steal.
6:20But lay up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither the moth nor canker corrupts, and where thieves neither digge through, nor steal.
6:21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
6:22The light of the body is the eye:if then your eye be single, your whole body shall be light.
6:23But if your eye be wicked, then all your body shall be dark. Wherefore if the light that is in you, be darkness, how great is that darkness?
6:24No man can serve two masters:for either he shall hate the one,and love the other, or else he shall lean to the one,and despise the other. You cannot serve Theos and riches.
6:25Therefore I say to you, be not careful for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink:nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more worth than meat? And the body then clothing?
6:26Behold the fowls of the heaven:for they sow not, neither reap, nor carry into the barns:yet your heavenly Father feeds them. [Are] you not much better than they?
6:27Which of you by taking care [is] able to add one cubit to his stature?
6:28And why care you for clothing? Learn how the lilies of the field do grow:they [are] not wearied, neither spin:
6:29Yet I say to you, that even Solomon in all his glory [was] not arrayed like one of these.
6:30Wherefore if Theos so clothe the grass of the field which is today, and Tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not do much more to you, O you of little faith?
6:31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or where with shall we [be] clothed?
6:32(For after all these things seek the Gentiles) for your heavenly Father knows, that you have need of all these things.
6:33But seek you first the kingdom of Theos, and his righteousness, and all these things shall [be] ministered to you.
6:34Care not then for the morrow:for the morrow shall care for itself:the day has enough with his own grief.

Chapter 7

7:1Judge not, that you [be] not judged.
7:2For with what judgment you judge, you shall [be] judged, and with what measure you mete, it shall [be] measured to you again.
7:3And why see you the mote, that [is] in your brothers eye,and perceive not the beam that [is] in your own eye?
7:4Or how say you to your brother, Suffer me to cast out the mote out of your eye,and behold, a beam [is] in your own eye?
7:5Hypocrite, first cast out that beam out of your own eye,and then shall you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brothers eye.
7:6Give you not that which [is] holy, to dogs, neither cast you your pearls before swine, lest they tread them under their feet, and turning again, all to rent you.
7:7Ask,and it shall [be] given you:seek, and you shall find:knock, and it shall [be] opened to you.
7:8For whoever asks, receives:and he,that seeks, finds:and to him that knocks, it shall [be] opened.
7:9For what man is there among you, which if his son ask him bread, would give him a stone?
7:10Or if he ask fish, will he give him a serpent?
7:11If you then, which are evil, can give to your children good gifts, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?
7:12Therefore whatever you would that men should do to you, even so do you to them:for this is the Law and the Prophets.
7:13Enter in at the straight gate:for it is the wide gate, and broad way that leads to destruction:and many there be which go in thereat,
7:14Because the gate is straight, and the way narrow that leads to life, and few there be that find it.
7:15Beware of false prophets, which come to you, in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
7:16You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns? Or figs of thistles?
7:17So every good tree brings forth good fruit, and a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
7:18A good tree can not bring forth evil fruit:neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
7:19Every tree that brings not forth good fruit, [is] hewn down, and cast into the fire.
7:20Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.
7:21Not every one that says to me, Kyrios, Kyrios, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does my Fathers will which [is] in heaven.
7:22Many will say to me in that day, Kyrios, Kyrios, have we not by your Name prophesied? And by your name cast out devils? And by your name done many great works?
7:23And then will I profess to them, I never knew you:depart from me, you that work iniquity.
7:24Whoever then hears of me these words, and does the same, I will liken him to a wise man, which has built his house on a rock:
7:25And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not:for it [was] grounded on a rock.
7:26But whoever hears these my words, and does them not, shall [be] likened to a foolish man, which has built his house upon the sand:
7:27And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.
7:28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these words, the people [were] astonished at his doctrine.
7:29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the Scribes.

Chapter 8

8:1Now when he [was] come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
8:2And lo, there came a Leper and worshipped him, saying, Master, if you will, you can make me clean.
8:3And Jesus putting forth his hand, touched him, saying, I will, [be] you clean:and immediately his leprosy [was] cleansed.
8:4Then Jesus said to him, See you tell no man,but go,and show yourself to the Priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a witness to them.
8:5When Jesus [was] entered into Capernaum, there came to him a Centurion, beseeching him,
8:6And said, Master, my servant lies sick at home of the palsy, and [is] grievously pained.
8:7And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him.
8:8But the Centurion answered, saying, Master, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof:but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
8:9For I am a man also under the authority of an other, and have soldiers under me:and I say to one, Go,and he goes:and to another, Come, and he comes:and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
8:10When Jesus heard that, he marveled, and said to them that followed him, Verily, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, even in Israel.
8:11But I say to you, that many shall come from the East and West, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
8:12And the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into utter darkness:there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
8:13Then Jesus said to the Centurion, Go your way,and as you have believed, so [be] it to you,And his servant [was] healed the same hour.
8:14And when Jesus came to Peters house, he saw his wives mother laid down, and sick of a fever.
8:15And he touched her hand, and the fever left her:so she arose, and ministered to them.
8:16When the Even [was] come, they brought to him many that [were] possessed with devils:and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that [were] sick,
8:17That it might [be] fulfilled, which [was] spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, saying, He took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
8:18And when Jesus saw great multitudes of people about him, he commanded them to go over the water.
8:19Then came there a certain Scribe, and said to him, Master, I will follow you wherever you go.
8:20But Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of man has not whereon to rest his head.
8:21And another of his disciples said to him, Master, suffer me first to go,and bury my father.
8:22But Jesus said to him, Follow me,and let the dead bury their dead.
8:23And when he [was] entered into the ship, his disciples followed him.
8:24And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, so that the ship [was] covered with waves:but he [was] a sleep.
8:25Then his disciples came, and awoke him, saying, Master, save us:we perish.
8:26And he said to them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea:and so there was a great calm.
8:27And the men marveled, saying, What man is this, that both the winds and the sea obey him!
8:28And when he [was] come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, which came out of the graves very fierce, so that no man might go by that way.
8:29And behold, they cried out, saying, Jesus the son of Theos, what have we to do with you? [Are] you come here to torment us before the time?
8:30Now there was, afar off from them, a great heard of swine feeding.
8:31And the devils besought him, saying, If you cast us out, suffer us to go into the heard of swine.
8:32And he said to them, Go. So they went out and departed into the heard of swine:and behold, the whole heard of swine ran headlong into the sea,and died in the water.
8:33Then the herdsmen fled:and when they [were] come into the city, they told all things, and what [was] become of them that [were] possessed with the devils.
8:34And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus:and when they saw him, they besought him to depart out of their coasts.

Chapter 9

9:1Then he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
9:2And lo, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, laid on a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith, said to the sick of the palsy, Son, [be] of good comfort:your sins [are] forgiven you.
9:3And behold, certain of the Scribes said with themselves, This man blasphemes.
9:4But when Jesus saw their thoughts, he said, Wherefore think you evil things in your hearts?
9:5For whether is it easier to say, Your sins are forgiven you, or to say, Arise, and walk?
9:6And that you may know that the Son of man has authority in earth to forgive sins, (then said he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up your bed,and go to your house.
9:7And he arose, and departed to his own house.
9:8So when the multitude saw it, they marveled, and glorified Theos, which had given such authority to men.
9:9And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man sitting at the custom, named Matthew, and said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
9:10And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, behold, many Publicans and sinners, that came there, sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.
9:11And when the Pharisees saw that, they said to his disciples, Why eats your master with Publicans and sinners?
9:12Now when Jesus heard it, he said to them, The whole need not a Physician, but they that [are] sick.
9:13But go you and learn what this is, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:for I am not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.
9:14Then came the disciples of John to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft,and your disciples fast not?
9:15And Jesus said to them, Can the children of the marriage chamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
9:16Moreover no man pieces an old garment with a piece of new cloth:for that that should fill it up, takes away from the garment, and the breach [is] worse.
9:17Neither do they put new wine into old vessels:for then the vessels would break, and the wine would [be] spilt, and the vessels should perish:but they put new wine into new vessels, and so [are] both preserved.
9:18While he thus spoke to them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter [is] now deceased, but come and lay your hand on her,and she shall live.
9:19And Jesus arose and followed him with his disciples.
9:20(And behold, a woman which [was] diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him,and touched the hem of his garment.
9:21For she said in herself, If I may touch but his garment only, I shall [be] whole.
9:22Then Jesus turned him about, and seeing her, did say, Daughter, [be] of good comfort:your faith has made you whole. And the woman [was] made whole at that same moment.)
9:23Now when Jesus came into the Rulers house, and saw the minstrels and the multitude making noise,
9:24He said to them, Get you from here:for the maid [is] not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.
9:25And when the multitude [were] put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
9:26And this bruit went throughout all that land.
9:27And as Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, O son of David, have mercy upon us.
9:28And when he [was] come into the house, the blind came to him,and Jesus said to them, Believe you that I [am] able to do this? And they said to him, Yes, Kyrios.
9:29Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith [be] it to you.
9:30And their eyes [were] opened, and Jesus gave them great charge, saying, See that no man know it.
9:31But when they [were] departed, they spread abroad his fame throughout all that land.
9:32And as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
9:33And when the devil [was] cast out, the dumb spoke:then the multitude marveled, saying, The like [was] never seen in Israel.
9:34But the Pharisees said, He casts out devils, through the prince of devils.
9:35And Jesus went about all cities and towns, teaching in their Synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
9:36But when he saw the multitude, he had compassion upon them, because they were dispersed, and scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
9:37Then said he to his disciples, Surely the harvest [is] great, but the laborers [are] few.
9:38Wherefore pray the Kyrios of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.

Chapter 10

10:1And he called his twelve disciples to him,and gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out,and to heal every sickness, and every disease.
10:2Now the names of the twelve Apostles are these. The first is Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother:James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother.
10:3Philip and Bartholomew:Thomas, and Matthew that Publican:James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus whose surname [was] Thaddeus:
10:4Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
10:5These twelve did Jesus send forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of of the Gentiles, and into the cities of the Samaritans enter you not:
10:6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
10:7And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven [is] at hand.
10:8Heal the sick:cleanse the lepers:raise up the dead:cast out the devils. Freely you have received, freely give.
10:9Possess not gold, nor silver, nor money in your girdles,
10:10Nor a scrip for the journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor a staff:for the workman is worthy of his meat.
10:11And into whatever city or town you shall come, inquire who is worthy in it,and there abide till you go from there.
10:12And when you come into a house, salute the same.
10:13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it:but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
10:14And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house, or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.
10:15Truly I say to you, it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, then for that city.
10:16Behold, I send you as sheep in the midst of the wolves:[be] you therefore wise as serpents, and innocent as doves.
10:17But beware of men,for they will deliver you up to the Councils, and will scourge you in their Synagogues.
10:18And you shall [be] brought to the governors and Kings for my sake, in witness to them, and to the Gentiles.
10:19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak:for it shall [be] given you in that hour, what you shall say.
10:20For it is not you that speak, but the spirit of your father which speaks in you.
10:21And the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son,and the children shall rise against their parents, and shall cause them to die.
10:22And you shall be hated of all men for my Name:but he that endures to the end, he shall be saved.
10:23And when they persecute you in this city, flee into another:for verily I say to you, you shall not go over all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man [be] come.
10:24The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his Kyrios.
10:25It [is] enough for the disciple to [be] as his master [is],and the servant as his Kyrios. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?
10:26Fear them not therefore:for there is nothing covered, that shall not be disclosed, nor hid, that shall not be known.
10:27What I tell you in darkness, that speak you in light:and what you hear in the ear, that preach you on the houses.
10:28And fear you not them which kill the body, but [are] nor able to kill the soul:but rather fear him, which [is] able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
10:29[Are] not two sparrows sold for a farthing, and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father?
10:30Yes,and all the hairs of your head are numbered.
10:31Fear you not therefore, you [are] of more value than many sparrows.
10:32Whoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which [is] in heaven.
10:33But whoever shall deny me before me, him will I also deny before my Father which [is] in heaven.
10:34Think not that I [am] come to send peace into the earth:I came not to send peace, but the sword.
10:35For I [am] come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
10:36And a man's enemies shall [be] they of his own household.
10:37He that loves father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that loves son, or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.
10:38And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.
10:39He that will find his life, shall lose it:and he that loss his life for my sake, shall find it.
10:40He that receives you, receives me:and he that receives me, receives him that has sent me.
10:41He that receives a Prophet in the name of a Prophet, shall receive a Prophets reward:and he that receives a righteous man, in the name of a righteous man, shall receive the reward of a righteous man.
10:42And whoever shall give to one of these little ones to drink a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

Chapter 11

11:1And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.
11:2And when John heard in the prison the works of Christos, he sent two of his disciples, and said to him,
11:3Are you he that should come, or shall we look for another?
11:4And Jesus answering, said to them, Go,and show John, what things you hear, and see.
11:5The blind receive sight, and the halt do walk:the lepers [are] cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead [are] raised up,and the poor receive the Gospel.
11:6And blessed is he that shall not be offended in me.
11:7And as they departed, Jesus began to speak to the multitude, of John, What went you out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
11:8But what went you out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, they that wear soft clothing, are in Kings houses.
11:9But what went you out to see? A Prophet? Yes, I say to you,and more than a Prophet.
11:10For this is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.
11:11Verily I say to you, among them which are begotten of women, arose there not a greater than John Baptist:notwithstanding, he that is the lest in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.
11:12And from the time of John Baptist hitherto, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
11:13For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied to John.
11:14And if you will receive it, this is that Elias, which was to come.
11:15He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
11:16But whereto shall I liken this generation? It is like to little children which sit in the markets, and call to their fellows,
11:17And say, We have piped to you,and you have not dance, we have mourned to you,and you have not lamented.
11:18For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil.
11:19The son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend to Publicans and sinners:but wisdom [is] justified of her children.
11:20Then began he to upbraid the cities, wherein most of his great works [were] done, because they repented not.
11:21Woe [be] to you, Chorazin:Woe [be] to you, Bethsaida:for if you great works, which [were] done in you, had [been] done in Tyre and Sidon, they had repented long agone in sackcloth and ashes.
11:22But I say to you, It shall be easier for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, then for you.
11:23And you, Capernaum, which [are] lifted up to heaven, shall [be] brought down to hell:for if the great works, which have bin done in you, had [been] done among them of Sodom, they had remained to this day.
11:24But I say to you, that it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, then for you.
11:25At that time Jesus answered, and said, I give you thanks, O Father, Kyrios of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and men of understanding, and have opened them to babes.
11:26It [is] so, O Father, because your good pleasure [was] such.
11:27All things [are] given to me of my Father:and no man knows the Son,but the Father:neither knows any man you Father, but the Son,and he to whom you Son will reveal him.
11:28Come to me, all you that [are] weary and laden, and I will ease you.
11:29Take my yoke on you,and learn of me that I am meek and lowly in heart:and you shall find rest to your souls.
11:30For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.

Chapter 12

12:1At that time Jesus went on a Sabbath day through you corn, and his disciples [were] a hungry, and began to pluck you ears of corn and to eat.
12:2And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, Behold, your disciples do that which [is] not lawful to do upon the Sabbath.
12:3But he said to them, Have you not read what David did when he [was] a hungry, and they that [were] with him?
12:4How he entered into the house of Theos, and did eat the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him,but only for the Priests?
12:5Or have you not read in the Law, how that on the Sabbath days the Priests in the Temple break the Sabbath, and are blameless?
12:6But I say to you, that here is one greater than the Temple.
12:7Wherefore if you knew what this is, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocents.
12:8For the son of man is Kyrios, even of the Sabbath.
12:9And he departed from there, and went into their Synagogue:
12:10And behold, there was a man which had his hand dried up. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal upon a Sabbath day? That they might accuse him.
12:11And he said to the, What man shall there be among you, that has a sheep, and if it fall on a Sabbath day into a pit, does not take it and lift it out?
12:12How much more than [is] a man better than a sheep? Therefore, it [is] lawful to do well on a Sabbath day.
12:13Then said he to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it forth, and it [was] made whole as the other.
12:14Then the Pharisees went out,and consulted against him, how they might destroy him.
12:15But when Jesus knew it, he departed there, and great multitudes followed him,and he healed the all,
12:16And charged them in threatning wise, that they should not make him known,
12:17That it might [be] fulfilled, which [was] spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, saying,
12:18Behold my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul delights:I will put my Spirit on him,and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.
12:19He shall not strive, nor cry, neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
12:20A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he bring forth judgment to victory.
12:21And in his Name shall the Gentiles trust.
12:22Then [was] brought to him one, possessed with a devil, both blind, and dumb, and he healed him, so that he which [was] blind and dumb, both spoke and saw.
12:23And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this that son of David?
12:24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man casts the devils no otherwise out,but through Beelzebub the prince of devils.
12:25But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself, [is] brought to nought:and every city or house, divided against itself, shall not stand.
12:26So if Satan cast out Satan, he [is] divided against himself:how shall then his kingdom endure?
12:27Also if I through Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your Judges.
12:28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of Theos, then [is] the kingdom of Theos come to you.
12:29Else how can a man enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man,and then spoil his house.
12:30He that is not with me, is against me:and he that gathers not with me, scatters.
12:31Wherefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy shall [be] forgiven to men:but the blasphemy against the holy Ghost shall not [be] forgiven to men.
12:32And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall [be] forgiven him:but whoever shall speak against the holy Ghost, it shall not [be] forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come.
12:33Either make the tree good, and his fruit good:or else make the tree evil, and his fruit evil:for the tree [is] known by the fruit.
12:34O generations of vipers, how can you speak good things, when you are evil? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
12:35A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things:and an evil man out of an evil treasure, brings forth evil things.
12:36But I say to you, that of every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof at the day of judgment.
12:37For by your words you shall [be] justified, and by your words you shall [be] condemned.
12:38Then answered certain of the Scribes and of the Pharisees, saying, Master, we would see a sign of you.
12:39But he answered and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, but no sign shall [be] given to it, save that sign of the Prophet Jonas.
12:40For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly:so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
12:41The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and condemn it:for they repented at the preaching of Jonas:and behold, a greater than Jonas [is] here.
12:42The Queen of the South shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon:and behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.
12:43Now when the unclean spirit [is] gone out of a man, he walks throughout dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
12:44Then he says, I will return into my house from whence I came:and when he [is] come, he finds it empty, swept and garnished.
12:45Then he goes, and takes to him seven other spirits worse than himself, and they enter in,and dwell there:and the end of that man is worse than the beginning. Even so shall it be with this wicked generation.
12:46While he yet spoke to the multitude, behold, his mother, and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
12:47Then one said to him, Behold, your mother and your brethren stand without, desiring to speak with you.
12:48But he answered, and said to him that told him, Who is my mother? And who are my brethren?
12:49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren.
12:50For whoever shall do my Fathers will which is in heaven, the same is my brother and sister and mother.

Chapter 13

13:1The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
13:2And great multitudes resorted to him, so that he went into a ship, and sat down:and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
13:3Then he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow.
13:4And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up.
13:5And some fell upon stony ground, where they had not much earth, and anon they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth.
13:6And when the sun [was] up, they [were] parched, and for lack of rooting, withered away.
13:7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up,and choked them.
13:8Some again fell in good ground, and brought forth fruit, one corn a hundred fold, some sixty fold, and another thirty fold.
13:9He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
13:10Then the disciples came, and said to him, Why speak you to them in parables?
13:11And he answered, and said to them, Because it [is] given to you, to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to the it [is] not give.
13:12For whoever has, to him shall [be] given, and he shall have abundance:but whoever has not, from him shall [be] taken away, even that he has.
13:13Therefore speak I to them in parables, because they seeing, do not see:and hearing, they hear not, neither understand.
13:14So in them [is] fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which prophecy says, By hearing, you shall hear, and shall not understand, and seeing, you shall see,and shall not perceive.
13:15For this peoples heart [is] waxed fat,and their ears [are] dull of hearing, and with their eyes they have winked, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their hearts, and should return, that I might heal them.
13:16But blessed [are] your eyes, for they see:and your ears, for they hear.
13:17For verily I say to you, that many Prophets, and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see,and have not seen them, and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.
13:18Hear you therefore the parable of the sower.
13:19Whenever any man hears the word of that kingdom, and understands it not, that evil one comes, and catches away that which was sown in his heart:and this is he which has received the seed by the way side.
13:20And he that received seed in the stony ground, is he which hears the word, and incontinently with joy receives it,
13:21Yet has he no root in himself, and endures but a season:for as soon as tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, by and by he is offended.
13:22And he that received the seed among thorns, is he that hears the word:but the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he is made unfruitful.
13:23But he that received the seed in the good ground, is he that hears the word, and understands it, which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundred fold, some sixty fold, and some thirty fold.
13:24Another parable put he forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven [is] like to a man which sowed good seed in his field.
13:25But while men slept, there came his enemy, and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
13:26And when the blade [was] sprouted up,and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
13:27Then came the servants of the housholder, and said to him, Master, sowed not you good seed in your field? From whence then has it tares?
13:28And he said to them, Some envious man has done this. Then the servants said to him, Will you then that we go and gather them up?
13:29But he said, No,lest while you go about to gather the tares, you pluck up also with them the wheat.
13:30Let both grow together until the harvest, and in time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather you first the tares, and bind them in sheaves to burn them:but gather the wheat into my barn.
13:31Another parable he put forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man takes and sows in his field:
13:32Which in deed is the lest of all seeds:but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and it is a tree, so that the birds of heaven come and build in the branches thereof.
13:33Another parable spoke he to them, The kingdom of heaven is like to leaven, which a woman takes and hides in three pecks of meal, till all be leavened.
13:34All these things spoke Jesus to the multitude in parables, and without parables spoke he not to them,
13:35That it might [be] fulfilled, which [was] spoken by the Prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables, and will utter the things which have [been] kept secret from the foundation of the world.
13:36Then sent Jesus the multitude away, and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, Declare to us the parable of the tares of that field.
13:37Then answered he,and said to them, He that sows the good seed, is the Son of man.
13:38And the field is the world, and the good seed are the children of the kingdom, and the tares are the children of that wicked one.
13:39And the enemy that sows them, is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers be the Angels.
13:40As then the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world.
13:41The Son of man shall send forth his Angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity,
13:42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
13:43Then shall the just men shine as you sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
13:44Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a treasure hid in the field, which when a man has found, he hides it,and for joy thereof departs and sells all that he has,and buys that field.
13:45Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant man, that seeks good pearls,
13:46Who having found a pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had,and bought it.
13:47Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a draw net cast into the sea, that gathers of all kinds of things.
13:48Which, when it [is] full, men draw to land, and sit and gather the good into vessels, and cast the bad away.
13:49So shall it be at the end of the world. The Angels shall go forth, and sever the bad from among the just,
13:50And shall cast them into a furnace of fire:there shall be wailing, and gnashing of teeth.
13:51Jesus said to them, Understand you all these things? They said to him, Yes, Kyrios.
13:52Then said he to them,Therefore every Scribe which is taught to the kingdom of heaven, is like to a householder, which brings forth out of his treasure things both new and old.
13:53And it came to pass, that when Jesus had ended these parables, he departed from there,
13:54And came into his own country, and taught them in their Synagogue, so that they [were] astonished, and said, Whence comes this wisdom and great works to this man?
13:55Is not this the carpenters son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James and Joses, and Simon and Judas?
13:56And are not his sisters all with us? Whence then has he all these things?
13:57And they were offended with him. Then Jesus said to them, A Prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.
13:58And he did not many great works there, for their unbelief sake.

Chapter 14

14:1At that time Herod the Tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
14:2And said to his servants, This is that John Baptist, he is risen again from the dead, and therefore great works are wrought by him.
14:3For Herod had taken John, and bound him,and put him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother Philips wife.
14:4For John said to him, It [is] not lawful for you to have her.
14:5And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a Prophet.
14:6But when Herod's birth day [was] kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
14:7Wherefore he promised with an oath, that he would give her whatever she would ask.
14:8And she [being] before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptists head in a platter.
14:9And the King [was] sorry:nevertheless because of the oath, and them that sat with him at the table, he commanded it to [be] given her,
14:10And sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
14:11And his head [was] brought in a platter, and given to the maid, and she brought it to her mother.
14:12And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it,and went, and told Jesus.
14:13And when Jesus heard it, he departed from there by ship into a desert place apart. And when the multitude had heard it, they followed him on foot out of the cities.
14:14And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude, and [was] moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
14:15And when even was come, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a deserted place, and the time is already past:let the multitude depart, that they may go into the towns, and buy them victuals.
14:16But Jesus said to them, They have no need to go away:give you them to eat.
14:17Then said they to him, We have here but five loaves, and two fish.
14:18And he said, Bring them here to me.
14:19And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves and the two fish, and looked up to heaven and blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
14:20And they did all eat,and [were] sufficed, and they took up of the fragments that remained, twelve baskets full.
14:21And they that had eaten, were about five thousand men, beside women and little children.
14:22And straightway Jesus compelled his disciples to enter into a ship, and to go over before him, while he sent the multitude away.
14:23And as soon as he had sent the multitude away, he went up into a mountain alone to pray:and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
14:24And the ship was now in the midst of the sea,and was tossed with waves:for it was a contrary wind.
14:25And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
14:26And when his disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit, and cried out for fear.
14:27But straight way Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be of good comfort, It is I:be not afraid.
14:28Then Peter answered him,and said, Master, if it be you, bid me come to you on the water.
14:29And he said, Come. And when Peter [was] come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
14:30But when he saw a mighty wind, he [was] afraid:and as he began to sink, he cried, saying, Master, save me.
14:31So immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him,and said to him, O you of little faith, wherefore did you doubt?
14:32And as soon as they [were] come into the ship, the wind ceased.
14:33Then they that were in the ship, came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth you are the Son of Theos.
14:34And when they [were] come over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
14:35And when the men of that place knew him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought to him all that [were] sick,
14:36And besought him, that they might touch the hem of his garment only:and as many as touched it, [were] made whole.

Chapter 15

15:1Then came to Jesus the Scribes and Pharisees, which [were] of Jerusalem, saying,
15:2Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
15:3But he answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of Theos by your tradition?
15:4For Theos has commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother:and he that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
15:5But you say, Whoever shall say to father or mother, By the gift that [is] offered by me, you may have profit,
15:6Though he honor not his father, or his mother, shall [be] free:thus have you made the commandment of Theos of no authority by your tradition.
15:7O hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
15:8This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with the lips, but their heart [is] far off from me.
15:9But in vain they worship me, teaching for doctrines, men precepts.
15:10Then he called the multitude to him,and said to them, Hear and understand.
15:11That which goes into the mouth, defiles not the man,but that which comes out of the mouth, that defiles the man.
15:12Then came his disciples, and said to him, Perceive you not, that the Pharisees [are] offended in hearing this saying?
15:13But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted, shall [be] rooted up.
15:14Let them alone, they be the blind leaders of the blind:and if the blind lead you blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
15:15Then answered Peter, and said to him, Declare to us this parable.
15:16Then said Jesus, Are you yet without understanding?
15:17Perceive you not yet, that whatever enters into the mouth, goes into the belly, and [is] cast out into the draught?
15:18But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man.
15:19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slanders.
15:20These are the things, which defile the man:but to eat with unwashed hands, defiles not you man.
15:21And Jesus went from there, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22And behold, a woman a Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying to him, Have mercy on me, O Kyrios, the son of David:my daughter [is] miserably vexed with a devil.
15:23But he answered her not a word. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cries after us.
15:24But he answered, and said, I [am] not sent, but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
15:25Yet she came, and worshipped him, saying, Kyrios, help me.
15:26And he answered, and said, It is not good to take the children's bread, and to cast it to whelps.
15:27But she said, Truth, Kyrios:yet in deed the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their masters table.
15:28Then Jesus answered, and said to her, O woman, great [is] your faith:[be] it to you, as you desire. And her daughter [was] made whole at that hour.
15:29So Jesus went away from there, and came near to the sea of Galilee, and went up into a mountain and sat down there.
15:30And great multitudes came to him, having with them, halt, blind, dumb, maimed, and many other, and cast them down at Jesus feet, and he healed them.
15:31In so much that the multitude wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the halt to go,and the blind to see:and they glorified the Theos of Israel.
15:32Then Jesus called his disciples to him,and said, I have compassion on this multitude, because they have continued with me already three days, and have nothing to eat:and I will not let them depart fasting, lest they faint in the way.
15:33And his disciples said to him, Whence should we get so much bread in the wilderness, as should suffice so great a multitude!
15:34And Jesus said to them, How many loaves have you? And they said, Seven, and a few little fish.
15:35Then he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground,
15:36And took the seven loaves, and the fish, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
15:37And they did all eat,and [were] sufficed:and they took up of the fragments that remained, seven baskets full.
15:38And they that had eaten, were four thousand men, beside women, and little children.
15:39Then Jesus sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the parts of Magdala.

Chapter 16

16:1Then came the Pharisees and Sadducees, and did tempt him, desiring him to show them a sign from heaven.
16:2But he answered, and said to them, When it [is] evening, you say, Fair weather:for you sky [is] red.
16:3And in the morning you say, Today shall [be] a tempest:for the sky [is] red and lowering. O hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky,and can you not discern the signs of the times?
16:4The wicked generation, and adulterous seeks a sign, but there shall no sign [be] given it,but that sign of the Prophet Jonas:so he left them, and departed.
16:5And when his disciples [were] come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread with them.
16:6Then Jesus said to them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
16:7And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It [is] because we have brought no bread.
16:8But Jesus knowing it, said to them, O you of little faith, why reason you thus among yourselves, because you have brought no bread?
16:9Do you not yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves, when there [were] five thousand men,and how many baskets took you up?
16:10Neither the seven loaves when there [were] four thousand men,and how many baskets took you up?
16:11Why perceive you not that I said not to you concerning bread, that you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?
16:12Then understood they that he had not said that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees, and Sadducees.
16:13Now when Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I, the son of man am?
16:14And they said, Some say, John Baptist:and some, Elias:and others, Jeremiah, or one of the Prophets.
16:15He said to them,But whom say you that I am?
16:16Then Simon Peter answered, and said, You are that Christos, the Son of the living Theos.
16:17And Jesus answered, and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, the son of Jonas:for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you,but my Father which is in heaven.
16:18And I say also to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church:and the gates of hell shall not overcome it.
16:19And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound in heaven:and whatever you shall loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
16:20Then he charged his disciples, that they should tell no man that he was Jesus that Christos.
16:21From that time forth Jesus began to show to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the Elders, and of the high Priests, and Scribes, and [be] slain, and [be] raised again the third day.
16:22Then Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, Master, pity yourself:this shall not be to you.
16:23Then he turned back, and said to Peter, Get you behind me, Satan:you are an offense to me, because you understand not the things that are of Theos, but the things that are of men.
16:24Jesus then said to his disciples, If any man will follow me, let him forsake himself:and take up his cross, and follow me.
16:25For whoever will save his life, shall lose it:and whoever shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it.
16:26For what shall it profit a man though he should win the whole world, if he lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give for recompense of his soul?
16:27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his Angels, and then shall he give to every man according to his deeds.
16:28Verily I say to you, there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the Son of man come in his kingdom.

Chapter 17

17:1And after six days, Jesus took Peter, and James and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart,
17:2And [was] transfigured before them:and his face did shine as the Sun,and his clothes [were] as white as the light.
17:3And behold, there appeared to them Moses, and Elias, talking with him.
17:4Then answered Peter, and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here:if you will, let us make here three tabernacles, one for you,and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
17:5While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud shadowed them:and behold, there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is that my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased:hear him.
17:6And when the disciples heard that, they fell on their faces, and [were] sore afraid.
17:7Then Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and [be] not afraid.
17:8And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
17:9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Show the vision to no man, until the Son of man rise again from the dead.
17:10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come?
17:11And Jesus answered, and said to them, Certeinely Elias must first come, and restore all things.
17:12But I say to you that Elias [is] come already, and they knew him not,but have done to him whatever they would:likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
17:13Then the disciples perceived that he spoke to them of John Baptist.
17:14And when they [were] come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man,and fell down at his feet,
17:15And said, Master, have pity on my son:for he [is] lunatic, and [is] sore vexed:for oft times he falls into the fire, and oft times into the water.
17:16And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.
17:17Then Jesus answered, and said, O generation faithless, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! How long now shall I suffer you! Bring him here to me.
17:18And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he went out of him:and the child [was] healed at that hour.
17:19Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
17:20And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief:for verily I say to you, if you have faith as much as [is] a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove from here to yonder place, and it shall remove:and nothing shall [be] impossible to you.
17:21Howbeit this kind goes not out,but by prayer and fasting.
17:22And they [being] in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man shall [be] delivered into the hands of men,
17:23And they shall kill him,but the third day shall he rise again:and they [were] very sorry.
17:24And when they [were] come to Capernaum, they that received poll money, came to Peter, and said, Does not your Master pay poll money?
17:25He said, Yes. And when he [was] come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What think you, Simon? Of whom do the Kings of the earth take tribute, or poll money? Of their children, or of strangers?
17:26Peter said to him, Of strangers. Then said Jesus to him, Then are the children free.
17:27Nevertheless,lest we should offend them:go to the sea,and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that comes up,and when you have opened his mouth, you shall find a piece of twenty pence:that take, and give it to them for me and you.

Chapter 18

18:1The same time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
18:2And Jesus called a little child to him,and set him in the midst of them,
18:3And said, Verily I say to you, except you [be] converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
18:4Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
18:5And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name, receives me.
18:6But whoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it [were] better for him, that a millstone [were] hanged about his neck, and that he [were] drowned in the depth of the sea.
18:7Woe be to the world because of offenses:for it must needs be that offenses shall come, but woe be to that man by whom the offense comes.
18:8Wherefore, if your hand or your foot cause you to offend, cut them off,and cast them from you:it is better for you to enter into life, halt, or maimed, than having two hands, or two feet, to be cast into everlasting fire.
18:9And if your eye cause you to offend, pluck it out,and cast it from you:it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
18:10See that you despise not one of these little ones:for I say to you, that in heaven their Angels always behold the face of my Father which [is] in heaven.
18:11For the Son of man [is] come to save that which [was] lost.
18:12How think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them [be] gone astray, does he not leave ninety and nine, and go into the mountains, and seek that which [is] gone astray?
18:13And if so [be] that he find it, verily I say to you, he rejoices more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray:
18:14So is it not you will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
18:15Moreover, if your brother trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone:if he hear you, you have won your brother.
18:16But if he hear you not, take yet with the one or two, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may [be] confirmed.
18:17And if he refuse to hear them, tell it to the Church:and if he refuse to hear the Church also, let him be to you as a heathen man,and a Publican.
18:18Verily I say to you, Whatever you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven:and whatever you loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
18:19Again, verily I say to you, that if two of you shall agree in earth upon any thing, whatever they shall desire, it shall [be] given them of my Father which [is] in heaven.
18:20For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the midst of them.
18:21Then came Peter to him,and said, Master, how oft shall my brother sin against me,and I shall forgive him? To seven times?
18:22Jesus said to him, I say not to you, To seven times, but, To seventy times seven times.
18:23Therefore [is] the kingdom of heaven likened to a certain King, which would take an account of his servants.
18:24And when he had begun to reckon, one [was] brought to him, which ought him ten thousand talents.
18:25And because he had nothing to pay, his Kyrios commanded him to [be] sold, and his wife, and his children, and all that he had,and the debt to [be] paid.
18:26The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Kyrios, refrain your anger toward me,and I will pay you all.
18:27Then that servants Kyrios had compassion, and loosed him,and forgave him the debt.
18:28But when the servant [was] departed, he found one of his fellow servants, which ought him a hundred pence, and he laid hands on him,and throat him, saying, Pay me that you owe.
18:29Then his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Refrain your anger toward me,and I will pay you all.
18:30Yet he would not,but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
18:31And when his other fellow servants saw what [was] done, they [were] very sorry, and came, and declared to their Kyrios all that [was] done.
18:32Then his Kyrios called him to him,and said to him, O evil servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you prayed me.
18:33Ought not you also to have had pity on your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you?
18:34So his Kyrios [was] wroth, and delivered him to the torturers, till he should pay all that [was] due to him.
18:35So likewise shall my heavenly Father do to you, except you forgive from your hearts, each one to his brother their trespasses.

Chapter 19

19:1And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judea beyond Jordan.
19:2And great multitudes followed him,and he healed them there.
19:3Then came to him the Pharisees tempting him,and saying to him, [Is] it lawful for a man to put away his wife upon every occasion?
19:4And he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he which made them at the beginning, made them male and female,
19:5And said,For this cause, shall a man leave father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they which were two shall be one flesh.
19:6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. Let not man therefore put asunder that, which Theos has coupled together.
19:7They said to him, Why did then Moses command to give a bill of divorcement, and to put her away?
19:8He said to them, Moses, because of the hardness of your heart, suffered you to put away your wives:but from the beginning it [was] not so.
19:9I say therefore to you, that whoever shall put away his wife, except it [be] for whoredom, and marry another, commits adultery:and whoever marries her which [is] divorced, does commit adultery.
19:10Then said his disciples to him, If the matter be so between man and wife, it is not good to marry.
19:11But he said to them, All men cannot receive this thing, save they to whom it [is] given.
19:12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born of their mothers belly:and there be some eunuchs, which be gelded by men:and there be some eunuchs, which have gelded themselves for the kingdom of heaven. He that is able to receive this, let him receive it.
19:13Then [were] brought to him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray:and the disciples rebuked them.
19:14But Jesus said, Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me:for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
19:15And when he had put his hands on them, he departed from there.
19:16And behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do,that I may have eternal life?
19:17And he said to him, Why call you me good? There [is] none good but one, even Theos:but if you will enter into life, keep you commandments.
19:18He said to him, Which? And Jesus said, These, You shall not kill:You shall not commit adultery:You shall not steal:You shall not bear false witness.
19:19Honor your father and mother:and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
19:20The young man said to him, I have observed all these things from my youth:what lack I yet?
19:21Jesus said to him, If you will be perfect, go, sell that you have, and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven, and come, and follow me.
19:22And when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful:for he had great possessions.
19:23Then Jesus said to his disciples, Verily I say to you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
19:24And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of Theos.
19:25And when his disciples heard it, they [were] exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can [be] saved?
19:26And Jesus beheld them, and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with Theos all things are possible.
19:27Then answered Peter, and said to him, Behold, we have forsaken all,and followed you:what therefore shall we have?
19:28And Jesus said to them, Verily I say to you, that when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his majesty, you which followed me in the regeneration, shall sit also upon twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
19:29And whoever shall forsake houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Names sake, he shall receive a hundred fold more, and shall inherit everlasting life.
19:30But many that are first, shall be last, and the last shall be first.

Chapter 20

20:1For the kingdom of heaven is like to a certain, housholder, which went out at the dawning of the day to hire laborers into his vineyard.
20:2And he agreed with the laborers for a when a day,and sent them into his vineyard.
20:3And he went out about the third hour, and saw other standing idle in the market place,
20:4And said to them, Go you also into my vineyard, and whatever is right, I will give you:and they went their way.
20:5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
20:6And he went about the eleventh hour, and found other standing idle, and said to them, Why stand you here all the day idle?
20:7They said to him, Because no man has hired us. He said to them, Go you also into my vineyard, and whatever is right, that shall you receive.
20:8And when even [was] come, the master of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their hire, beginning at the last, till you come to the first.
20:9And they which [were] hired about you eleventh hour, came and received every man a penny.
20:10Now when the first came, they supposed that they should receive more, but they likewise received every man a penny.
20:11And when they had received it, they murmured against the master of the house,
20:12Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and you have made them equal to us, which have born the burden and heat of the day.
20:13And he answered one of them, saying, Friend, I do you no wrong:did you not agree with me for a penny?
20:14Take that which [is] your own,and go your way:I will give to this last, as much as to you.
20:15Is it not lawful for me to do as I will with my own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?
20:16So the last shall be first, and the first last:for many are called, but few chosen.
20:17And Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and took the twelve disciples apart in the way,and said to them,
20:18Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall [be] delivered to the chief priests, and to the Scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
20:19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles, to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him,but the third day he shall rise again.
20:20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee children with her sons, worshipping him,and desiring a certain thing of him.
20:21And he said to her, What would you? She said to him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one at your right hand, and the other at your left hand in your kingdom.
20:22And Jesus answered and said, You know not what you ask. [Are] you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of,and to [be] baptized with the baptism that I shall [be] baptized with? They said to him, We [are] able.
20:23And he said to them, You shall drink in deed of my cup,and shall be baptized with the baptism, that I am baptized with, but to sit at my right hand, and at my left hand, is not my to give:but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
20:24And when the other ten heard this, they disdained at the two brethren.
20:25Therefore Jesus called them to him,and said, We know that the lords of the Gentiles have domination over them, and they that [are] great, exercise authority over them.
20:26But it shall not be so among you:but whoever will be great among you, let him be your servant.
20:27And whoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.
20:28Even as the Son of man came not to [be] served, but to serve, and to give his life for the ransom of many.
20:29And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
20:30And behold, two blind men, sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried, saying, O Kyrios, the Son of David, have mercy on us.
20:31And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace:but they cried the more, saying, O Kyrios, the Son of David, have mercy on us.
20:32Then Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will you that I should do to you?
20:33They said to him, Kyrios, that our eyes may [be] opened.
20:34And Jesus moved with compassion, touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Chapter 21

21:1And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and [were] come to Bethphage, to the mount of the Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
21:2Saying to them, Go into the town that [is] over against you,and anon you shall find an ass bound, and a colt with her:loose them, and bring them to me.
21:3And if any man say ought to you, say you, that the Kyrios has need of them, and straightway he will let them go.
21:4All this [was] done that it might [be] fulfilled, which [was] spoken by the Prophet, saying,
21:5Tell you the daughter of Sion, Behold, your King comes to you, meek and sitting upon an ass,and a colt, the foal of an ass used to the yoke.
21:6So the disciples went, and did as Jesus had commanded them,
21:7And brought the ass and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and set him thereon.
21:8And a great multitude spread their garments in the way:and other cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
21:9Moreover, the people that went before, and they also that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, Blessed [be] he that comes in the Name of the Kyrios, Hosanna you which [are] in the highest heavens.
21:10And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
21:11And the people said, This is Jesus that Prophet of Nazareth in Galilee.
21:12And Jesus went into the Temple of Theos, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the Temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
21:13And said to them, it [is] written, My house shall [be] called the house of prayer:but you have made it a den of thieves.
21:14Then the blind, and the halt came to him in the Temple, and he healed them.
21:15But when the chief priests and Scribes saw the marvels that he did,and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they disdained,
21:16And said to him, Hear you what these say? And Jesus said to them, Yes:read you never, By the mouth of babes and sucklings you have made perfect the praise?
21:17So he left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.
21:18And in the morning, as he returned into the city, he [was] hungry,
21:19And seeing a fig tree in the way, he came to it,and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said to it, Never fruit grow on you henceforwards. And anon the fig tree withered.
21:20And when his disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, How soon [is] the fig tree withered!
21:21And Jesus answered and said to them, Verily I say to you, if you have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only do that, which I have done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, Take yourself away, and cast yourself into the sea, it shall [be] done.
21:22And whatever you shall ask in prayer, if you believe, you shall receive it.
21:23And when he [was] come into the Temple, the chief Priests, and the Elders of the people came to him, as he [was] teaching, and said, By what authority do you these things? And who gave you this authority?
21:24Then Jesus answered and said to them, I also will ask of you a certain thing, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
21:25The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven, or of men? Then they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say to us, Why did you not then believe him?
21:26And if we say, Of men, we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a Prophet.
21:27Then they answered Jesus, and said, We can not tell. And he said to them,Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
21:28But what think you? A certain man had two sons, and came to the elder, and said, Son, go and work today in my vineyard.
21:29But he answered,and said, I will not:yet afterward he repented himself,and went.
21:30Then came he to the second, and said likewise. And he answered, and said, I will, Syr:yet he went not.
21:31Whether of them twain did the will of the father? They said to him, The first. Jesus said to them, Verily I say to you, that the Publicans and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of Theos.
21:32For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you believed him not:but the Publicans, and the harlots believed him,and you, though you saw it, [were] not moved with repentance afterward, that you might believe him.
21:33Hear another parable, There was a certain housholder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepress therein, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange country.
21:34And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen to receive the fruits thereof.
21:35And you husbandmen took his servants and beat one,and killed another, and stoned another.
21:36Again he sent other servants, more than the first:and they did the like to them.
21:37But last of all he sent to them his own son, saying, They will reverence my son.
21:38But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir:come, let us kill him,and let us take his inheritance.
21:39So they took him,and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
21:40When therefore the Kyrios of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen?
21:41They said to him, He will cruelly destroy those wicked men,and will let out his vineyard to other husbandmen, which shall deliver him the fruits in their seasons.
21:42Jesus said to them, Read you never in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same is made the head of the corner? This was the Lords doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
21:43Therefore say I to you, The kingdom of Theos shall [be] taken from you,and shall [be] given to a nation, which shall bring forth the fruits thereof.
21:44And whoever shall fall on this stone, he shall [be] broken:but on whomever it shall fall, it will dash him a pieces.
21:45And when the chief Priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.
21:46And they seeking to lay hands on him, feared the people, because they took him as a Prophet.

Chapter 22

22:1Then Jesus answered, and spoke to them again in parables, saying,
22:2The kingdom of heaven [is] like to a certain King which married his son,
22:3And sent forth his servants, to call them that [were] bidde to the wedding, but they would not come.
22:4Again he sent forth other servants, saying. Tell them which [are] bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner:my oxen and my things [are] killed, and all things [are] ready:come to the marriage.
22:5But they made light of it,and went their ways, one to his farm, and another about his merchandise.
22:6And the remnant took his servants, and treated them spitefully, and slew them.
22:7But when the King heard it, he [was] wroth, and sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burnt up their city.
22:8Then said he to his servants, Truly the wedding is prepared:but they which were bidden, were not worthy.
22:9Go you therefore out into the high ways, and as many as you find, bid them to the marriage.
22:10So those servants went out into the high ways, and gathered together all that ever they found, both good and bad:so the wedding [was] furnished with guests.
22:11Then the King came in, to see the guests, and saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment.
22:12And he said to him, Friend, how came you in here, and have not on a wedding garment? And he [was] speechless.
22:13Then said the King to the servants, Bind him hand and foot:take him away, and cast him into utter darkness:there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
22:14For many are called, but few chosen.
22:15Then went the Pharisees and took counsel how they might tangle him in talk.
22:16And they sent to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and teach the way of Theos truly, neither care for any man:for you consider not the person of men.
22:17Tell us therefore, how think you? [Is] it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not?
22:18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt you me, you hypocrites?
22:19Show me the tribute money. And they brought him a they.
22:20And he said to them, Whose [is] this image and superscription?
22:21They said to him, Caesar's. Then said he to them, Give therefore to Cesar, the things which [are] Caesar's,and give to Theos, those things which [are] Gods.
22:22And when they heard it, they marveled, and left him,and went their way.
22:23The same day the Sadducees came to him (which say that there is no resurrection) and asked him,
22:24Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall Mary his wife by the right of alliance, and raise up seed to his brother.
22:25Now there were with us seven brethren, and the first married a wife, and deceased:and having none issue, left his wife to his brother.
22:26Likewise also the second, and the third, to the seventh.
22:27And last of all the woman died also.
22:28Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seven? For all had her.
22:29Then Jesus answered, and said to them, You [are] deceived, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of Theos.
22:30For in the resurrection they neither Mary wives, nor wives are bestowed in marriage, but are as the Angels of Theos in heaven.
22:31And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what [is] spoken unto you of Theos, saying,
22:32I am the Theos of Abraham, and the Theos of Isaac, and the Theos of Jacob? Theos is not the Theos of the dead, but of the living.
22:33And when the multitude heard it, they [were] astonished at his doctrine.
22:34But when the Pharisees had heard, that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they assembled together.
22:35And one of them, which [was] an expounder of the Law, asked him a question, tempting him,and saying,
22:36Master, which [is] you great commandment in the Law?
22:37Jesus said to him, You shall love the Kyrios your Theos with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
22:38This is the first and the great commandment.
22:39And the second [is] like to this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
22:40On these two commandments hangs the whole Law,and the Prophets.
22:41While the Pharisees [were] gathered together, Jesus asked them,
22:42Saying, What think you of Christos? Whose son is he? They said to him, David's.
22:43He said to them, How then does David in spirit call him Kyrios, saying,
22:44The Kyrios said to my Kyrios, Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool?
22:45If then David call him Kyrios, how is he his son?
22:46And none could answer him a word, neither durst any from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Chapter 23

23:1Then spoke Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
23:2Saying, The Scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat.
23:3All therefore whatever they bid you observe, that observe and do:but after their works do not:for they say,and do not.
23:4For they bind heavy burdens, and grievous to [be] born, and lay them on men's shoulders, but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
23:5All their works they do for to [be] seen of men:for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the borders of their garments,
23:6And love the chief place at feasts, and to have the chief seats in the assemblies,
23:7And greetings in the markets, and to [be] called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
23:8But be not you called, Rabbi:for one is your your, to wit, Christos, and all you are brethren.
23:9And call no man your father upon the earth:for there is but one, your father which is in heaven.
23:10Be not called your:for one is your your, even Christos.
23:11But he that is greatest among you, let him be your servant.
23:12For whoever will exalt himself, shall [be] brought low:and whoever will humble himself, shall [be] exalted.
23:13Woe therefore [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut up the kingdom of heaven before men:for you yourselves go not in,neither suffer you them that would enter, to come in.
23:14Woe [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites:for you devour widows houses, even under a color of long prayers:wherefore you shall receive the greater damnation.
23:15Woe [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites:for you compass sea and land to make one of your profession:and when he [is] made, you make him two fold more the child of hell, than you yourselves.
23:16Woe be to you blind guides, which say, Whoever swears by the Temple, it is nothing:but whoever swears by the gold of the Temple, he offends.
23:17You fools and blind, whether is greater, the gold, or the Temple that sanctifies the gold?
23:18And whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing:but whoever swears by the offering that is upon it, offends.
23:19You fools and blind, whether [is] greater, the offering, or the altar which sanctifies the offering?
23:20Whoever therefore swears by the altar, swears by it,and by all things thereon.
23:21And whoever swears by the Temple, swears by it,and by him that dwells therein.
23:22And he that swears by heaven, swears by the throne of Theos, and by him that sits thereon.
23:23Woe [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites:for the tithe mint, and anise, and cumin, and leave the weightier matters of the law, as judgment, and mercy and fidelity. These ought you to have done, and not to have left the other.
23:24You blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.
23:25Woe [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites:for you make clean the utter side of the cup,and of the platter:but within they [are] full of bribery and excess.
23:26You blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may [be] clean also.
23:27Woe [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites:for you [are] like to whited tombs, which appear beautiful outward, but [are] within full of dead men's bones, and all filthiness.
23:28So are you also:for outward you appear righteous to men,but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
23:29Woe [be] to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites:for the build the tombs of the Prophets, and garnish the scribes of the righteous,
23:30And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in the blood of the Prophets.
23:31So then you be witnesses to yourselves, that you are the children of them that murdered the Prophets.
23:32Fulfill you also you measure of your fathers.
23:33O serpents, the generation of vipers, how should you escape the damnation of hell!
23:34Wherefore behold, I send to the Prophets, and wise men,and Scribes, and of them you shall kill and crucify:and of them shall you scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from city to city,
23:35That upon you may come all the righteous blood that [was] shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, to the blood of Zacharias the son of Berechiah, whom you slew between the Temple and the altar.
23:36Verily I say to you, all these things shall come upon this generation.
23:37Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kill the Prophets, and stone them which [are] sent to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, as the hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
23:38Behold, your habitation shall [be] left to you desolate,
23:39For I say to you, you shall not see me henceforth till that you say, Blessed [is] he that comes in the Name of the Kyrios.

Chapter 24

24:1And Jesus went out,and departed from the Temple, and his disciples came to him, to show him the building of the Temple.
24:2And Jesus said to them, See you not all these things? Verily I say to you, there shall not [be] here left a stone upon a stone, that shall not [be] cast down.
24:3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, his disciples came to him apart, saying, Tell us when these things shall be,and what sign shall be of your coming, and of the end of the world.
24:4And Jesus answered, and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
24:5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christos, and shall deceive many.
24:6And you shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars:see that you be not troubled:for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
24:7For nation shall rise against nation, and realm against realm, and there shall be famine, and pestilence, and earthquakes in diverse places.
24:8All these [are] but the beginning of sorrows.
24:9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you,and you shall be hated of all nations for my Names sake.
24:10And then shall many [be] offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
24:11And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many.
24:12And because iniquity shall [be] increased, the love of many shall [be] cold.
24:13But he that endures to the end, he shall [be] saved.
24:14And this Gospel of the kingdom shall [be] preached through the whole world for a witness to all nations, and then shall the end come.
24:15When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet, set in the holy place (let him that reads consider it.)
24:16Then let them which [be] in Judea, flee into the mountains.
24:17Let him which [is] on the house top, not come down to fetch any thing out of his house.
24:18And he that [is] in the field, let not him return back to fetch his clothes.
24:19And woe shall [be] to them that [are] with child, and to them that give suck in those days.
24:20But pray that your flight [be] not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day.
24:21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world to this time, nor shall be.
24:22And except those days should [be] shortened, there should no flesh [be] saved:but for the elects sake those days shall [be] shortened.
24:23Then if any shall say to you, Lo, here [is] Christos, or there, believe it not.
24:24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, so that if it [were] possible, they should deceive the very elect.
24:25Behold, I have told you before.
24:26Wherefore if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth:Behold, he is in the secret places, believe it not.
24:27For as the lightning comes out of the East, and is seen into the West, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:28For wherever a dead carcass is, there will the Eagles be gathered together.
24:29And immediately after the tribulations of those days, shall the sun [be] darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and you powers of heave shall [be] shake.
24:30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:and then shall all the kindreds of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man come in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
24:31And he shall send his Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect, from the four winds, and from the one end of the heavens to the other.
24:32Now learn the parable of the fig tree:when her bough [is] yet tender, and it puts forth leaves, you know that summer [is] near.
24:33So likewise you, when you see all these things, know that the kingdom of God is near, even at the doors.
24:34Verily I say to you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things [be] done.
24:35Heaven and earth shall pass away:but my words shall not pass away.
24:36But of that day and hour knows no man, no not the Angels of heaven, but my father only.
24:37But as the days of Noe were, so likewise shall the coming of the Son of man be.
24:38For as in the days before the flood, they did eat and drink, marry, and give in marriage, to the day that Noe entered into the Ark,
24:39And knew nothing, till the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:40Then two shall be in the fields, the one shall be received, and the other shall be refused.
24:41Two women shall [be] grinding at the mill:the one shall [be] received, and the other shall [be] refused.
24:42Watch therefore:for you know not what hour your master will come.
24:43Of this [be] sure, that if the good man of the house knew at what watch the thief would come, he would surely watch, and not suffer his house to [be] digged through.
24:44Therefore [be] you also ready:for in the hour that you think not, will the Son of man come.
24:45Who then is a faithful servant and wise, whom his master has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in season?
24:46Blessed [is] that servant, whom his master when he comes, shall find so doing.
24:47Verily I say to you, he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
24:48But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My master does defer his coming,
24:49And begin to smite his fellows, and to eat,and to drink with the drunken,
24:50That servants master will come in a day, when he looks not for him,and in an hour that he [is] not ware of,
24:51And will cut him off,and give him his portion with hypocrites:there shall be weeping, and gnashing of teeth.

Chapter 25

25:1Then the kingdom of heaven shall [be] likened to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
25:2And five of them were wise, and five foolish.
25:3The foolish took their lamps, but took none oil with them.
25:4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5Now while the bridegroom tarried long, all slumbered and slept.
25:6And at midnight there [was] a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes:go out to meet him.
25:7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil,for our lamps [are] out.
25:9But the wise answered, saying, Not so,lest there will not [be] enough for us and you:but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
25:10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came:and they that [were] ready, went in with him to the wedding, and the gate [was] shut.
25:11Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Kyrios, Kyrios, open to us.
25:12But he answered, and said, Verily I say to you, I know you not.
25:13Watch therefore:for you know neither the day, nor the hour, when the son of man will come.
25:14For the kingdom of heaven [is] as a man that going into a strange country, called his servants, and delivered to them his goods.
25:15And to one he gave five talents, and to an other two,and to another one, to every man after his own ability, and straightway went from home.
25:16Then he that had received the five talents, went and occupied with them, and gained other five talents.
25:17Likewise also, he that received two, he also gained other two.
25:18But he that received that one, went and digged it in the earth, and hid his masters money.
25:19But after a long season, the master of those servants came, and reckoned with them.
25:20Then came he that had received five talents, and brought other five talents, saying, Master, you delivered to me five talents:behold, I have gained with them other five talents.
25:21Then his master said to him, It is well done good servant and faithful, You have been faithful in little, I will make you ruler over much:enter into your masters joy.
25:22Also he that had received two talents, came, and said, Master, you delivered to me two talents:behold, I have gained two other talents more.
25:23His master said to him, It is well done good servant, and faithful, You have been faithful in little, I will make you ruler over much:enter into your masters joy.
25:24Then he which had received the one talent, came, and said, Master, I knew that you were a hard man, which reap where you sowed not,and gather where you strewed not:
25:25I [was] therefore afraid, and went, and hid your talent in the earth:behold, you have your own.
25:26And his master answered, and said to him, You evil servant, and slothful, you knew that I reap where I sowed not,and gather where I strawed not.
25:27You ought therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming should I have received my own with vantage.
25:28Take therefore the talent from him,and give it to him which has ten talents.
25:29For to every man that has, it shall [be] given, and he shall have abundance, and from him that has not, even that he has, shall [be] taken away.
25:30Cast therefore that unprofitable servant into utter darkness:there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
25:31And when the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the holy Angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory,
25:32And before him shall [be] gathered all nations, and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd separate the sheep from the goats.
25:33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, and the goats on the left.
25:34Then shall you king say to them on his right hand, Come you blessed of my father:take the inheritance of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
25:35For I was a hungry, and you gave me meat:I thirsted, and you gave me drink:I was a stranger, and you took me in to you.
25:36I was naked, and you clothed me:I was sick, and you visited me:I was in prison, and you came to me.
25:37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Kyrios, when saw we you a hungry, and fed you? Or a thirst, and gave you drink?
25:38And when saw we you a stranger, and took you in to us? Or naked, and clothed you?
25:39Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came to you?
25:40And the King shall answer, and say to them, Verily I say to you, in as much as you have done it to one of the lest of these my brethren, you have done it to me.
25:41Then shall he say to them on the left hand, Depart from me you cursed, into everlasting fire, which [is] prepared for the devil and his angels.
25:42For I [was] a hungry, and you gave me no meat:I thirsted, and you gave me no drink:
25:43I was a stranger, and you took me not in to you:I was naked, and you clothed me not:sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.
25:44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Kyrios, when saw we you a hungry, or a thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to you?
25:45Then shall he answer them, and say, Verily I say to you, in as much as you did it not to one of the lest of these, you did it not to me.
25:46And these shall go into everlasting pain, and the righteous into life eternal.

Chapter 26

26:1And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples,
26:2You know that after two days [is] the Passover, and the Son of man shall [be] delivered to [be] crucified.
26:3Then assembled together the chief Priests, and the Scribes, and the Elders of the people into the hall of the high Priest called Caiaphas:
26:4And consulted together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.
26:5But they said, Not on the feast day, lest any uproar [be] among the people.
26:6And when Jesus [was] in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
26:7There came to him a woman, which had a boxe of very costly ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at the table.
26:8And when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, What needed this waste?
26:9For this ointment might have [been] sold for much, and [been] given to the poor.
26:10And Jesus knowing it, said to them, Why trouble you the woman? For she has wrought a good work upon me.
26:11For you have the poor always with you,but me shall you not have always.
26:12For in that she poured this ointment on my body, she did it to bury me.
26:13Verily I say to you, wherever this Gospel shall [be] preached throughout all the world, there shall also this that she has done, [be] spoken of for a memorial of her.
26:14Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief Priests,
26:15And said, What will you give me,and I will deliver him to you? And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver.
26:16And from that time, he sought opportunity to betray him.
26:17Now on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, Where will you that we prepare for you to eat the Passover?
26:18And he said, Go you into the city to such a man,and say to him, The master says, My time is at hand:I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.
26:19And the disciples did as Jesus had given them charge, and made ready the Passover.
26:20So when the Even [was] come, he sat down with the twelve.
26:21And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say to you, that one of you shall betray me.
26:22And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say to him, Is it I, Master?
26:23And he answered and said, He that dipped his hand with me in the dish, he shall betray me.
26:24Surely the Son of man goes his way, as it is written of him:but woe be to that man, by whom the Son of man is betrayed:it had been good for that man, if he had never been born.
26:25Then Judas which betrayed him, answered and said, Is it I, Master? He said to him, You have said it.
26:26And as they did eat, Jesus took the bread, and when he had blessed, he brake it,and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat:this is my body.
26:27Also he took the cup,and when he had given thanks, he gave it them, saying, Drink you all of it.
26:28For this is my blood of the New Testament, that is shed for many, for the remission of sins.
26:29I say to you, that I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day, when I shall drink it new with you in my Fathers kingdom.
26:30And when they had sung a Psalm, they went out into the mount of Olives.
26:31Then said Jesus to them, All you shall [be] offended by me this night:for it [is] written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall [be] scattered.
26:32But after I [am] risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
26:33But Peter answered, and said to him, Though that all men should [be] offended by you, yet will I never [be] offended.
26:34Jesus said to him, Verily I say to you, that this night, before the cock crow, you shall deny me thrice.
26:35Peter said to him, Though I should die with you, I will in no case deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.
26:36Then went Jesus with them into a place which [is] called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, Sit you here, while I go,and pray yonder.
26:37And he took to him Peter, and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to wax sorrowful, and grievously troubled.
26:38Then said Jesus to them, My soul is very heavy, even to the death:tarry you here, and watch with me.
26:39So he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.
26:40After, he came to the disciples, and found them a sleep, and said to Peter, What? Could you not watch with me one hour?
26:41Watch,and pray, that you enter not into tentation:the spirit in deed [is] ready, but the flesh [is] weak.
26:42Again he went away the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup can not pass away from me,but that I must drink it, your will [be] done.
26:43And he came, and found them a sleep again, for their eyes were heavy.
26:44So he left them and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
26:45Then came he to his disciples, and said to them, Sleep henceforth, and take your rest:behold, the hour [is] at hand, and the Son of man [is] given into the hands of sinners.
26:46Rise, let us go:behold, he [is] at hand that betrayer me.
26:47And while he yet spoke, lo Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the high Priests and Elders of the people.
26:48Now he that betrayed him, had given them a token, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, that is he, lay hold on him.
26:49And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, God save you, Master, and kissed him.
26:50Then Jesus said to him, Friend, wherefore [are] you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
26:51And behold, one of them which [were] with Jesus, stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high Priest, and smote off his ear.
26:52Then said Jesus to him, Put up your sword into his place:for all that take the sword, shall perish with the sword.
26:53Either think you, that I can not now pray to my Father, and he will give me more than twelve legions of Angels?
26:54How then should the Scriptures [be] fulfilled, which say, that it must [be] so?
26:55The same hour said Jesus to the multitude, You [be] come out as it [were] against a thief, with swords and staves to take me:I sat daily teaching in the Temple among you,and you took me not.
26:56But all this [was] done, that the Scriptures of the Prophets might [be] fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him,and fled.
26:57And they took Jesus, and led him to Caiaphas the high Priest, where the Scribes and the Elders [were] assembled.
26:58And Peter followed him a far off to the high Priests hall, and went in,and sat with the servants to see the end.
26:59Now the chief Priests and the Elders, and all the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death.
26:60But they found none, and though many false witnesses came, yet found they none:but at the last came two false witnesses,
26:61And said, This man said, I can destroy the Temple of Theos, and build it in three days.
26:62Then the chief Priest arose, and said to him, Answer you nothing? What [is] the matter that these men witness against you?
26:63But Jesus held his peace. Then the chief Priest answered, and said to him, I charge you swear to us by the living Theos, to tell us, If you be that Christos the Son of Theos, or no.
26:64Jesus said to him, You have said it:nevertheless I say to you, hereafter shall you see the Son of man, sitting at the right hand of the power of God,and come in the clouds of the heaven.
26:65Then the high Priest rent his clothes, saying, He has blasphemed, what have we any more need of witnesses? Behold:now you have heard his blasphemy.
26:66What think you? They answered, and said, He is guilty of death.
26:67Then spat they in his face, and buffeted him,and other smote him with others,
26:68Saying, Prophecy to us, O Christos, Who is he that smote you?
26:69Peter sat without in the hall, and a maid came to him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee:
26:70But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what you say.
26:71And when he went out into the porch, another maid saw him,and said to them that were there, This man was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
26:72And again he denied with an oath, saying, I know not the man.
26:73So after a while, came to him they that stood by,and said to Peter, Surely you are also one of them:for even your speech betrays you.
26:74Then began he to curse himself, and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crowed.
26:75Then Peter remembered the words of Jesus, which had said to him, Before the cock crow you shall deny me thrice. So he went out,and wept bitterly.

Chapter 27

27:1When the morning [was] come, all the chief Priests, and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, to put him to death,
27:2And led him away bound, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
27:3Then when Judas which betrayed him, saw that he [was] condemned, he repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief Priests, and Elders,
27:4Saying, I have sinned, betraying the innocent blood. But they said, What [is] that to us? See you to it.
27:5And when he had cast down the silver pieces in the Temple, he departed, and went, and hanged himself.
27:6And the chief Priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for us to put them into the treasure, because it is the price of blood.
27:7And they took counsel, and bought with them a potters field, for the burial of strangers.
27:8Wherefore that field [is] called, The field of blood, until this day.
27:9(Then [was] fulfilled that which [was] spoken by Jeremiah the Prophet, saying,And they took thirty silver pieces, you price of him that [was] valued, whom they of the children of Israel valued.
27:10And they gave them for the potters field, as the Kyrios appointed me.)
27:11And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, saying, Are you that King of the Jews? Jesus said to him, You say it.
27:12And when he [was] accused of the chief Priests, and Elders, he answered nothing.
27:13Then said Pilate to him, Hear you not how many things they lay against you?
27:14But he answered him not to one word, in so much that the governor marveled greatly.
27:15Now at the feast, the governor [was] wont to deliver to the people a prisoner whom they would.
27:16And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
27:17When they [were] then gathered together, Pilate said to the, Whether will you that I let loose to you Barabbas, or Jesus which [is] called Christos?
27:18(For he knew well, that for envy they had delivered him.
27:19Also when he [was] set down upon the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have you nothing to do with that just man:for I have suffered many things this day in a dream by reason of him.)
27:20But the chief Priests and the Elders had persuaded the people that they should ask Barabbas, and should destroy Jesus.
27:21Then the governor answered, and said to them, Whether of the twain will you that I let loose to you? And they said, Barabbas.
27:22Pilate said to them, What shall I do then with Jesus, which [is] called Christos? They all said to him, Let him [be] crucified.
27:23Then said the governor,But what evil has he done? Then they cried the more, saying, Let him [be] crucified.
27:24When Pilate saw that he availed nothing, but that more tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just man:look you to it.
27:25Then answered all the people, and said, His blood [be] on us,and on our children.
27:26Thus let he Barabbas loose to them, and scourged Jesus, and delivered him to [be] crucified.
27:27Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered about him the whole band,
27:28And they stripped him,and put about him a scarlet robe,
27:29And platted a crown of thorns, and put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand, and bowed their knees before him,and mocked him, saying, God save you King of the Jews,
27:30And spitted upon him,and took a reed, and smote him on the head.
27:31Thus when they had mocked him, they took the robe from him,and put his own clothing on him,and led him away to crucify him.
27:32And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon:him they compelled to bear his cross.
27:33And when they came to the place called Golgotha, (that is to say, the place of dead when skulls)
27:34They gave him vinegar to drink, mingled with gall:and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
27:35And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, and did cast lots, that it might [be] fulfilled, which [was] spoken by the Prophet, They divided my garments among them, and upon my vesture did cast lots.
27:36And they sat,and watched him there.
27:37They set up also over his head his cause written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27:38And there [were] two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
27:39And they that passed by, reviled him, wagging their heads,
27:40And saying, You that destroy the Temple, and build it in three days, save yourself:if you be the son of Theos, come down from you cross.
27:41Likewise also the high Priests mocking him, with the Scribes, and Elders, and Pharisees, said,
27:42He saved others, but he cannot save himself:if he be you King of Israel, let him now come down from you cross, and we will believe in him.
27:43He trusted in Theos, let him deliver him now, if he will have him:for he said, I am the Son of Theos.
27:44The self same thing also you thieves which [were] crucified with him, cast in his teeth.
27:45Now from the sixth hour [was] there darkness over all the land, to the ninth hour.
27:46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, sabachthani? That is, My Theos, my Theos, why have you forsaken me?
27:47And some of them that stood there, when they heard it, said, This man calls Elias.
27:48And straightway one of them ran,and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
27:49Other said, Let [be]:let us see, if Elias will come and save him.
27:50Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up the ghost.
27:51And behold, the veil of the Temple [was] rent in twain, from the top to the bottom, and the earth did quake, and the stones [were] clove.
27:52And the graves did open themselves, and many bodies of the Saints, which slept, arose,
27:53And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many.
27:54When the Centurion, and they that were with him watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of Theos.
27:55And many women were there, beholding him a far off, which had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him.
27:56Among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee sons.
27:57And when the even [was] come, there came a rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, who had also himself [been] Jesus disciple.
27:58He went to Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to [be] delivered.
27:59So Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
27:60And put it in his new tomb, which he had hewn out in a rock, and rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
27:61And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary sitting over against the sepulchre.
27:62Now the next day that followed the Preparation of the Sabbath, the high Priests and Pharisees assembled to Pilate,
27:63And said, Syr, we remember that that deceiver said, while he [was] yet alive, Within three days I will rise.
27:64Command therefore, that the secure be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead:so shall the last therefore be worse than the first.
27:65Then Pilate said to them, You have a watch:go,and make it sure as you know.
27:66And they went, and made the secure sure with the watch, and sealed the stone.

Chapter 28

28:1Now in the end of the Sabbath, when the first day of you week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary came to see the see,
28:2And behold, there [was] a great earthquake:for the Angel of the Kyrios descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
28:3And his countenance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
28:4And for fear of him, the keepers [were] astonished, and became as dead men.
28:5But the Angel answered, and said to the women, Fear you not:for I know that you seek Jesus which [was] crucified:
28:6He is not here, for he is risen;as he said:come, see the place where the Kyrios was laid,
28:7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he [is] risen from the dead:and behold, he goes before you into Galilee:there you shall see him:lo, I have told you.
28:8So they departed quickly from the sepulchre, with fear and great joy,and did run to bring his disciples word.
28:9And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus also met the, saying, God save you. And they came, and took him by the feet, and worshipped him.
28:10Then said Jesus to them, [Be] not afraid. Go,and tell my brethren, that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
28:11Now when they [were] gone, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed to the high Priests all you things that [were] done.
28:12And they gathered them together with the Elders, and took counsel, and gave large money to the soldiers,
28:13Saying, Say, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
28:14And if this matter come before the governor to [be] heard, we will persuade him,and so use the matter that you shall not need to care.
28:15So they took the money, and did as they [were] taught:and this saying [is] instructed among the Jews to this day.
28:16Then you eleven disciples went into Galilee, into a mountain, where Jesus had appointed the.
28:17And when they saw him, they worshipped him:but some doubted.
28:18And Jesus came, and spoke to them, saying, All power [is] given to me, in heaven, and in earth.
28:19Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and the Son,and the holy Ghost,
28:20Teaching them to observe all things, whatever I have commanded you:and lo, I am with you always, until the end of the world, Amen.
